WELCOME to the Ohio RESA Tripod Student Perception Survey Portal

The Tripod Student Perception Survey is intended to give Ohio RESA candidates feedback on their teaching practice in order to complete RESA Task 5. Candidates who have 5 or more students in their class who are able to complete the survey are eligible to administer the survey. Candidates who teach fewer than 5 students, have students who cannot complete the survey, or teach pre-K will complete the alternative task as outlined in the Ohio RESA Handbook.

Candidates identified their participating class when completing their My Profile registration prior to submitting Task 1. Cambridge Education will send detailed information about the surveys directly to the candidates, via email and/or FedEx, during the week of February 2nd, 2015. Candidates must administer and return the surveys no later than March 9th, 2015. Please note the deadline has been extended due to inclement weather and school closures across the state of Ohio. Candidates will receive information on how to retrieve their survey results via email by April 15th, 2015 in time to complete Task 5.

Paper Surveys for Grades K-2

Paper surveys for grades K-2 are shipped in packs that will arrive at each school via FedEx, addressed to each teacher. These packs include all of the information a proctor or teacher will need to administer the survey to their class. Included in the pack are the surveys, a peel and stick envelope for each survey, instructions and a script for the proctor to follow and a sign off sheet to collect information about the class.

Once your class completes the survey, all materials, including completed and uncompleted surveys should be shipped to our scanning facility for processing. To sign off on your survey administration online go to class-survey.cedu.io and use the code on your class cover sheet. It is vitally important all surveys are returned in a timely manner. Instructions on how to return the surveys, as well as a pre-paid return label, are included in your pack.

Getting started

  • Informed Consent
    • All parents and students need to be informed of this initiative. Download and print each letter below, and send them home with students at least a week before the survey window. These letters inform them of the project, what information will be collected, and that the student has the opportunity to opt out. Please download them below.
    • Classroom teachers need to compile a list of students whose parents or guardians decide that they will not participate.
  • Secure a proctor to administer the surveys in your classroom on the date that you will administer surveys to students.
  • Receive your packet at school. A packet will be shipped to your attention at your school address on Feb 2nd. If you do not receive your packet by February 4th, contact Cambridge Education’s Help Desk.

Administering the Survey

  • Each teacher receives a class pack containing all the materials that a proctor needs to administer the surveys, along with all instructions. In paper administration class packs, this includes a secured class cover sheet that must be signed off and returned by the proctor. Have the proctor administer surveys to children according to instructions. The proctor will fill out the sign off sheet and include it in the packet to return for scanning.
  • Informing the Students
    • Tripod Surveys have very high response rates across all grade levels. Students enjoy the opportunity to give feedback, but it is very important that students take these assessments seriously.
  • Instructions for return shipping as well as a return envelope will be in your packet.
  • All materials must be postmarked by March 9th in order to be included in the RESA administration.
