Discover how family and community surveys can improve family engagement, satisfaction, and communication.
It is almost universally recognized by educators that when families partner with schools to support learning, schools improve. Most notably, students show higher achievement levels, absenteeism is lessened, and dropout rates decrease. Most studies show that the relationship between family engagement and academic and socio-emotional improvement holds across grade level, parent education, ethnicity, and income (Belfield & Levin, 2007; Barton, 2007, Jeynes, 2007; Wang & Sheikh- Khalil, 2014; Wilder, 2014). As such, many schools around the country are striving to:
However, most schools and districts lack the tools to either ensure steady attention to these aspirations or to measure progress. As a result, schools and districts often fall back on limited evidence from occasional parent surveys and anecdotal reports— this is not enough.
Regular collection of feedback can allow for parents/families to provide feedback on current issues/problems or questions in the district and the frequent reporting allows districts and schools to provide a prompt response.
Tripod partners with schools and districts to gather input from families about their experiences and perspectives on several aspects of their children’s schools. Feedback includes family engagement, satisfaction, stress and anxiety, and communication. Surveys can be administered regularly and district and school leaders can access feedback in real-time, via our online data dashboards.
The Tripod Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion family survey is designed to capture family perceptions of diversity, equity and inclusion issues in their school. Schools and districts use this data to get a clearer picture of how diversity, equity, and inclusion impact different families. Data from this Tripod survey can help inform school or district wide DEI improvement initiatives or strategic planning.
Our Tripod Suite of Surveys includes almost a dozen different survey tools. We also work with districts to design and deliver custom-built surveys to meet the needs of your district or school.
